On a picture-perfect Friday evening (Feb 28th), Edwina Saunders (shown here holding a red bucket) headed to St. Anthony Church to help clean the church and hall. Edwina, Patty Vargas (in purple), their sons, friends, and other parishioners have been part of the cleaning ministry and the Josefinos for years so Edwina thought nothing was amiss when she arrived at the hall. Except, awaiting her was a BIG SURPRISE! One big ohana (of family & friends) had secretly worked behind the scenes for many months to throw her a surprise birthday party in honor of turning 80! What a gift it is to be loved by so many and to be part of the St. Anthony ohana! As stewards of God's gifts, this is a special opportunity to thank Edwina and to thank every single parishioner (every single steward) who over the years devote countless hours, working behind the scenes to keep our church clean. All this work is for God's glory! May the Lord continue to bless us all with hope, faith, and lots of aloha, just as Edwina experienced when she was honored in the parish hall on a picture-perfect Friday evening!
